We have built a decently running version of an xls uploader. You can see it in "action" at Traumbaum.de I write "" because you actually just see its results, all articles were auto-generated from an xls file and also get updated via the same system. Additionally if you upload images which are named like the corresponding article titles, they can get displayed as the leading img.

We would consider building a releasable version if enough interest exists. Let us know if you want to test it.
