As you well may know the J!andBeyond convention in Wiesbaden, Germany has come to an end. It is great to see the satisfaction and sweet aftertaste this event seems to have left with those that have attended. People are tweeting non-stop about this event and we are probably bound to see and possibly hear more updates in the coming days.

You can keep an eye on the videopage to see what updates they post. At the time of this post you can find the introduction by Robert Deutz on there. But these aren't the things why I am writing this post and neither are the dozens of awesome speakers from the Joomla! community that have contributed their part. I would like to point out a great initiative that has sprung up with this event, which is the J!Oscars. Not only because we have been nominated for one of the categories, which is a great honour and we are very thankful for this nomination, but also because this is something that has been lacking in the Joomla! community. I think this is part of giving back to the community. Make people feel good that they are contributing stuff for free; that they spent hours on end beyond their official duties to put these hubs of knowledge together for others. A bit of recognition hasn't harmed anyone, if anything, it'll push folks to do better in the future. I can feel the community rising to new levels. First the CMSexpo then our own official social network, not to mention ATAAW where the initiative Joomlaforward was born and now comes J!andBeyond. I wish we could have made this year's events, but I will definitely try to make it to them next time around. What a great and exciting time to be part of this community.

Can you feel it?

We would also like to congratulate all outstanding J!Oscar winners:
